The Story

From Command Controller to Tax Rescue Squad.

Stephan spent 20 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a decorated Command Controller. The role demanded exactly what serious tax cases demand today: coordinated information gathering, disciplined analysis, and a defensible decision — communicated clearly, on time, every time.

After his military career, Stephan earned his CPA, completed graduate-level tax-law education, and became a Certified Tax Resolution Specialist and NTPI Fellow. He founded Legacy Tax & Resolution Services to bring the discipline of an operations center to the tax-resolution industry.

He has represented individuals and businesses nationwide across the full range of resolution work — installment agreements, offers in compromise, penalty abatement, audit defense, payroll-tax cases, and FIRPTA withholding matters — with a written plan of action guiding every case.

A note on titles. JSM Tax is a graduate degree in tax law. It is not the same as admission to a state bar. Stephan is not a licensed attorney; he represents taxpayers as a CPA and Certified Tax Resolution Specialist authorized to practice before the IRS.
